Author of Cellophane
Björk Jakobsdóttir was born in Reykjavík in 1966. Björk graduated as an actress from The Iceland Academy of the Arts in 1993. She worked as an actress at the City theatre for one year before she founded a theatre with a group of collegues.
The Hafnarfjörður Theatre only produces new Icelandic plays written specially for the Theatre or dramatizations written by the group. Björk was one of the company’s artistic directors, leading actress and dramaturge. In 2002 Björk wrote her first play “Sellofon/Cellophane” which became a bestseller in Iceland, sold over 200 shows and was awarded best play 2003 by Icelandic audience. Today Björk works as a writer, stand-up comedian teacher, actress and director.
